use like "ssh email@example.com" and password is "temppwd"

Hi likely SSH permissions - I think root login is disabled by default. I'm not 100% sure, but it could be something to check.
Hey, took me some time to figure this out. Had the same problem with my BBB. Here is the solution: You have to enable root access for ssh:https://linuxconfig.org/enable-ssh-root-login-on-debian-linux-server
